Schlicher Antenna Pictures - Sept. 29, 2008
Pic 1 -- Side view of the gadget Pic 2-- Closeup of the ‘petals’ part of the antenna Pic 3-- Closeup of the ‘cage’ part of the antenna. The blue Teflon-insulated wires is just a loop that John said he used as a pickup for testing with an oscilloscope. He never removed it, and I’m certainly not going to modify the thing. Pic 4 -- Rear view of the antenna. You can clearly see the ‘prism’ conductors inside the petals. Pic 5-- Closeup of the ‘prisms.’ They are insulated electrically from the petals themselves (and the rest of the circuit) by a thin piece of plastic strapping tape. Pic 6-- Front view of the antenna. You can see how (unlike the NASA antenna) the cylindrical “coax” part of the antenna is divided into individual segments. The center conductor from the ‘cage’ part is in the center of the white plastic cylinder. Pic 7-- Yardstick to give an idea of the size of the thing. Pic 8-- Another shot for sizing. Pic 9 -- A last profile shot. My trusty Tek 475 is in the background.
